March Madness is the crown jewel of every college basketball season. Year after year men’s college basketball fans create brackets, track their favorite teams, and soak up the tournament excitement. Squads rise to the occasion, players have breakout games, and history is mad.
The 2026 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament returns with 68 teams chasing the title. The NCAA tournament has gone from early-round chaos to a battle of the heavyweights as we enter into the final four on April 4th.There have been many upsets going on thus far in the tournament, and many blowouts by the more dominant team. We’ve had so many game winners so far, and exhilarating comebacks, which have fans on their toes coming down to the final four. The championship was just last week where Uconn and Michigan went head to head for the championship title.
A BASE student bet heavily on their tournament favorite, Duke, to win the whole thing. Their hopes were crushed in the Elite Eight when Uconn had a stunning 19-point comeback. The game was decided when Uconn freshman Braylon Mullins made a crazy 35-foot buzzer-beater to win 73-72 after a costly turnover by the Blue Devils. Despite that disappointment, the student was happy to see the Michigan Wolverines win the tournament, as they were happy that Michigan beat UConn and took home the title. Although Duke lost and the student was mad that they lost, they were happy that Michigan got the dub over Uconn and won the championship.
The 2026 NCAA tournament gave us an exhilarating, mind blowing and unforgettable March Madness. From the first round to a crazy insane final four to the championship battle the tournament was amazing all around. After a lot of insane upsets and elite performance, Michigan came up victorious over Uconn in a stunning finale to take home the championship title. Tyler Foggatt says, “The beauty of March Madness is that anything can happen. The horror of March Madness is that, really, anything can happen.” This once again proves that during March Madness anything really can happen and anyone can win.
